Beijing watermelon and muskmelon industry plant protection specialist completes work tasks

On January 11, 2016, Researcher Guo Xihong of the Beijing Plant Protection Station, as the plant protection specialist of the “Beijing watermelon and muskmelon industry innovation team”, attended the 2016 work deployment meeting organized by the watermelon and muskmelon industry innovation team. At the meeting, 9 specialists began work coordination and task deployment with the heads of 3 comprehensive experimental stations and 18 farmer field workstations based on their own job responsibilities and tasks. Based on their own job responsibilities, Researcher Guo Xihong coordinated with the heads of several farmer field workstations in Daxing, Shunyi and Yanqing on work including green control of soilborne diseases at the watermelon and muskmelon seedling stage, technical research on thrips control during watermelon and muskmelon production, demonstration and extension of predatory mites for controlling spider mites on watermelon and muskmelon, and demonstration and extension of Harmonia axyridis for controlling melon aphids on watermelon and muskmelon, and implemented the annual work tasks and implementation sites.
