Promotion of the Cloud 505 corn variety in Fengqing County, Yunnan

In 2015, relying on project implementation, the Yunrui 505 variety was promoted among more than 1,950 farming households across the county, with the planting area exceeding 4,000 mu and the average yield per mu reaching more than 500 kg, an increase of more than 160 kg over the county's average yield per mu, with an increase rate of more than 49%. All farmers in the demonstration base and the science and technology demonstration village achieved a growth of more than 20% in per capita net income, and the corn industry's yield per mu indicator was more than 20% higher than that of the entire county. The planting and breeding levels of demonstration households across the county were more than 15% higher than the average level of surrounding planting and breeding households; the coverage rate of main promoted varieties and technologies reached more than 90%.
