[Introduction·China Vegetable Network]The reporter learned from the government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region that in 2015, the Manzhouli port, the largest land port between China and Russia, exported a total of 390,800 tons of fruits and vegetables, with a value of $205 million. According to the introduction, in 2015 the fruit export volume at Manzhouli port totaled 159,700 tons, with a value of $102 million, up 14.51% and 30.02% year on year respectively; the vegetable export volume totaled 231,100 tons, with a value of $103 million, down 12.11% and 0.04% year on year respectively. This is the first time in the past 3 years that fruit and vegetable exports from Manzhouli port to Russia have shown a trend of “fruit increasing and vegetables decreasing”.
According to analysis, in 2015, because China's main fruit-producing areas had a relatively good harvest, the purchase prices of various fruits dropped significantly, and the export cost advantage was notably enhanced, so exports of citrus, nectarines, pomelos, persimmons and lemons grew relatively quickly. At the same time, against the backdrop of Russia vigorously developing local agriculture, the Russian vegetable market's dependence on foreign supplies dropped substantially, and imports of vegetables such as potatoes and onions decreased, directly affecting the export of some bulk vegetables from Manzhouli port.
In view of the characteristics of fresh fruits and vegetables being difficult to preserve and having a short inspection and quarantine validity period, the Manzhouli inspection and quarantine department implemented the “three priority” inspection and quarantine model of priority inspection, priority certificate drafting and priority release, reducing customs clearance costs for enterprises while ensuring that fresh fruits and vegetables are quickly transported to Russia.
The reporter also learned from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that, approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Arxan port in Inner Mongolia has become a newly added designated port for imported grain. It is the third designated port for imported grain in Inner Mongolia after Erenhot and Manzhouli ports.
Arxan port is located in Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia, and corresponds to the Sumber port of Mongolia. According to staff of the Inner Mongolia Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, after the designated port for imported grain is put into operation, grain can be imported directly from Mongolia through Arxan port, which will greatly reduce transportation, warehousing and loss costs and save costs for enterprises.
