Beijing Improves Seed Industry Management to Promote Industry Development

In order to strengthen the collection, analysis and utilization of basic information in the seed industry, strengthen the verification of crop seed production and operation license qualifications in Beijing, standardize administrative licensing standards and procedures, and further improve the level of seed industry statistics and administrative licensing work in our city, the Beijing Seed Management Station held the “2015 Citywide Seed Management System Industry Management Work Meeting” on November 4 and 5. Gao Hongyue and Sun Wenqin from the Brigade Seed Management Station (Enforcement Section 4) attended the meeting.

At this meeting, the Industry Section of the Municipal Station first summarized the 2015 citywide basic information statistics work for seed enterprises, the 2015 citywide administrative licensing work, and the 2015 citywide statistics work on supply and demand of major crops, and deployed the work for 2016. During the meeting, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed the proposal to amend the Seed Law, and everyone also discussed the revised new Seed Law and the problems existing in the citywide industry statistics and administrative licensing work.

Finally, Deputy Station Chief Jia Xihai of the Municipal Station gave a concluding speech and put forward requirements for the seed industry work in 2016.
