Lanzhou Municipal Seed Bureau Visits Shengou Village to Provide Technical Assistance and Cultivate Industries That Enrich the People
On January 12, in freezing cold with slippery roads after snow, Shengou Village presented a vast white scene everywhere, yet this could not stop the cadres of the Municipal Seed Bureau in their steps toward targeted poverty alleviation. According to the arrangements of the leaders of the Municipal Water Affairs Bureau, the lead unit, virus-free potato technical backbone personnel were organized to make a special trip to Shengou Village, Xiaokangying Township, Yuzhong County, to pass on knowledge and expertise and promote the Subao model of cultivating industries that enrich the people. With public infrastructure greatly improved, they brought them successful experience in changing the planting structure and cultivating industries that enrich the people, doing their modest part to help Lanzhou City escape poverty and become prosperous and reach moderate prosperity as soon as possible.
Shengou Village is located 3 km south of Yuzhong County town. The whole village has more than 1,000 people and about 2,800 mu of arable land, mainly planting double-ridge furrow-sown corn, flax and wheat, and villagers' income mainly relies on working in the city. As soon as we stepped into the Shengou Villagers' Committee, what came into view was a neat and beautiful office building, and the hardened courtyard was tidily arranged and very clean. Next to the Villagers' Committee is a large cultural square, with fitness equipment complete in every way, and a brand-new cultural stage that carries the spiritual nourishment of the whole village.
Entering the office of Zhang Mingde, the village Party secretary and concurrently Villagers' Committee director, on the second floor, the heads of the 6 she and some villager representatives sat neatly, beaming with joy when they saw us, and pairs of unfamiliar hands clasped tightly together. It was clear that the goal of escaping poverty, becoming prosperous and reaching moderate prosperity was the same, and our wishes were connected, and they expressed sincere welcome and thanks for our helping hand in cultivating industries that enrich the people.
The technical backbone of the Municipal Seed Bureau, in combination with the promotable and replicable Subao model of cultivating industries that enrich the people, lectured on the prospects of the virus-free potato industry, variety selection and cultivation techniques, harvesting, storage and other integrated knowledge of good seeds and good methods. During this time, the villagers asked questions enthusiastically, we answered them one by one, and connected with the invited cooperative, achieving very good results.
