"Gold Coast," also known as "Necktie Flower," is a colorful-centered unusual and butterfly-type flower, also called Flower Within a Flower, Butterfly Loves Flower, and Necktie Flower. It is the most representative variety of the colorful-centered unusual and butterfly-type Cymbidium lianpan. The plant height is 30-50 cm, leaf width 0.5-0.8 cm, the leaves are slanted and arching, the leaves are fine and rather long, the leaf veins are prominent, the leaf surface is V-shaped, the leaf sheaths are tight, and the pseudobulb is round. It is a true-form flower; the petals are multi-colored, edged with crystal-like white, and many flower tongues proliferate between the petals. It belongs to the multi-tongued unusual flowers, dazzlingly colorful. What makes Gold Coast so unusual is that paired small tongues grow between the petals, and at most it has actually opened as many as 38 of them! The small tongues change as the petals open; some grow larger, some do not grow, and some small tongues even grow larger than the normal tongue. At minimum, one or two pairs of small tongues grow beneath the large tongue, and sometimes they can grow on both rear sides of the petals. These small flower tongues between the petals are like starlight adorning them, exceptionally brilliant. As its flowering forms have been widely cultivated, they have received more verification (previously it did not bloom often), and this year forms of endless variety can be seen, delighting orchid growers.
