In order to effectively strengthen seed quality supervision and ensure the seed use safety of this city's spring “two-hybrid” seeds in 2016. In accordance with the requirements of the Dazhou Municipal Agriculture Bureau's "Notice on Conducting the 2016 “Two-Hybrid” Seed Quality Supervisory Spot Check Work" (Dashi Nongye Han [2015] No. 7), from January 5 to 8, the Municipal Seed Quality Inspection and Testing Station arranged three work groups to carry out sampling at seed wholesale stores in 7 urban distribution centers throughout the city.

This sampling focused on stores with large sales volumes and many varieties sold, stores whose seeds failed quality inspection in the previous spot check, and stores selling major recommended varieties at the provincial and municipal levels. A total of 31 seed stores were sampled, and 162 seed samples of hybrid rice and hybrid corn were collected. The collected samples were tested for three routine indicators: moisture, purity, and germination rate.

The seed quality supervision and inspection stations of each county (city, district) also simultaneously collected 240 “two-hybrid” seed samples. The citywide total of “two-hybrid” seed samples subjected to spot checks reached 402, with a spot check coverage rate of 92.3%.
