Haihesu Chunlan Variety Introduction and Characteristics Analysis
It was discovered on Zhoushan at the end of 1997. Ye Zongfang went to attend the national orchid exhibition held in Hangzhou in 2000, and it won a gold award. This flower has an obliquely upright leaf posture, relatively broad leaves, and tender green leaf color; the outer three petals of the flower are short and round, with a green rim; the holds are mussel-shell shaped, and the tongue is pure white and curled. The flower color is yellow-green. It is said that in the year Haihesu was discovered, it was quite "lotus-like," and the green edging on the petals was also quite a "rim." However, for many years afterward, the original flowering form was never cultivated again. Haihesu gradually faded from people's memory. Another reason Haihesu was forgotten is that this plant is extremely difficult to grow.

There is a seven-character quatrain as evidence:
The sea swallow carries the lotus in plain attire, redrawing short petals with green and adding yellow.
Zhoushan's mussel-shell holds and green reed swords, cut and inlaid with a Kunlun jade tongue.
The first line of the poem contains the three characters [Haihesu]. "In plain attire" means the orchid's green is light and its coloring is pale. The second line says the petals are short and have a green rim. The flower color is yellow-green. The third line [Zhoushan] first points out the orchid's place of origin. "Mussel-shell holds" refers to the orchid's mussel-shell-shaped holds. "Green reed swords" says the orchid leaves are tender green and obliquely upright like swords. The fourth line says the orchid tongue is like white jade; mutton-fat white jade comes from Kunlun, and the green reed swords cut it from Kunlun and inlaid it to form the orchid tongue. In the image, the orchid tongue is snow-white and translucent, like fat and like jade. [Sea swallow] In Li Qingzhao's [Rumengling], there is the line "The sea swallow has not yet come, people play the grass game; the river plum has already passed, and the willow has grown catkins." The "sea swallow" at the beginning of the line is the swallow of Liang.
