Introduction to the Characteristics of the Tianlong Baisu Jianlan (Cymbidium ensifolium) Variety
In the autumn of 2005, a mountain farmer came back from the forest area of Rong County with more than ten jin of dragon-root seedlings. Over the years there have been many excellent snow-white plain-flowered varieties of Sijilan, but most of them have narrow petals, poor flower shape and other such factors, and so are less than satisfactory. While admiring them, orchid growers cannot help hoping to obtain a new snow-white plain-flowered Sijilan variety with wide petals and good form, and a rather ideal variety has now been discovered among the wild-collected plants in our garden. Besides its snow-white flower color, broad petals and lotus-type form, its leaves also faintly carry an elementary pink variegation.
