Cymbidium ensifolium 'Foguang Hongsu': Discovered before 2008, origin Leshan, Sichuan. The leaves are elegant and flowing with snake-skin mottling, the leaf tips twisted, the young shoots bright red, the green flower stems rise well above the foliage, the outer petals are green as jade, the inner petals are porcelain white with a red halo, and the tongue changes over time from faint red to light red, from light red to bright red, from bright red to deep red, from deep red to purple-red, and the flowers are especially large, reaching over 6 cm at their largest, with very tall flower stems that often carry six or seven blooms, each flower's tongue a different shade of red, making it a truly spectacular and rarely seen high-grade colored flower, as wondrous and rarely seen as the Buddha's halo on Mount Emei, hence the name Foguang Hongsu. This flower is unstable, and cannot really be called a red plain flower; when it blooms poorly it is just an ordinary flower!
