Introduction to and Appreciation of the Double Happiness Lotus Orchid (Shuangxi He) Lotus-Petal Orchid Variety

Double Happiness Lotus (Shuangxi He) closely resembles Dangshan Lotus, but it is not Dangshan Lotus. In terms of petal shape and color, both flowers are among the finest petal-type flowers in the lotus-petal orchids, except that Dangshan Lotus will revert if the temperature is too high during the flowering season, and its flowers bloom relatively short. Above medium seedling condition, the two flowers are truly very hard to tell apart in appearance, but weak seedlings of Double Happiness differ considerably from Dangshan. In addition, some orchid enthusiasts have preliminarily concluded that around the time the new shoots open, the colors of the two flowers differ noticeably: the shoots of Double Happiness are much paler, while those of Dangshan are purplish red, and this red covers almost the entire shoot body.
