This flower was a representative of Spring Sword wonder flowers in the 1990s. The plant is about 40 cm tall, the leaf tips are slightly upturned, and a single plant has three to five leaves. Because of its distinctive leaf shape and leaf posture, it is very easy to identify even when not in bloom. After the buds open, they are fairly large, reaching 5 cm in diameter when fully bloomed, shaped like a peony, and a single flower can have as many as about 50 petals. Because it closely resembles the head of the qilin, the mythical beast that brings good fortune, and because the flower colors blend red, yellow, green, white, and purple into one, it is called the Five-Color Qilin. Since its appearance, this flower has been highly admired around the world.
