Nanguo Hongmei is a plum-petal Cymbidium sinense collected in Baihua Village, Zhangzhou, Fujian. The Guangzhou senior grower Ye Manchang bought a clump of plum-petal plants with dragon-root seedlings from Baihua Village and brought them to Guangzhou, and that same year the old president Tan Futai (Guangzhou Orchid Association) named it Nanguo Hongmei.
