Introduction and Characteristics of the Shuangzi He Cymbidium goeringii Variety
'Shuangzi He' (Twin Lotus) is named for often producing two flowers on a single stem, and in 2000 at the Hangzhou National Orchid Exhibition it was awarded the title "Famous Cymbidium goeringii Variety". Characteristics: leaves 35-50 cm long, 0.8-1.3 cm wide, long and broad leaves, with a mid-arching leaf posture. The round outer three petals are short and broad, with angled tips and narrowed bases, triangular shoulders, and a pale green color. The mussel-shell-like petals (holding petals) contain crimson red in the center. Large round lip, with distinct U-shaped red spots. The flower shape is slightly small, often two flowers on one stem, delicately fragrant, flowering period January-March, somewhat similar to Cuigai. It is an excellent variety among the lotus-petal flowers of Cymbidium goeringii.
