In 2006, the sky-high-priced orchid "Datang Fengyu" became a household name, but few realize that "Datang Fengyu" is the name of a series formed by three types of leaf variegation, namely: Da Feng, Er Feng, and San Feng.
Da Feng has a short, compact plant form, sometimes with the central leaf completely transformed into a lip, as if a tongue grows out of the leaf, and it blooms a true-form pistil petal orchid, also known as a three-star butterfly.
Er Feng, (Fengyu Xiaguan) has a tall and graceful plant form, 40-60 cm long, 0.8 cm wide, with almost every shoot having leaf variegation, at most 3 leaves per shoot transformed, with leaf-edge variegation reaching up to 40 cm long, able to remain without drying out for over a year. It is currently one of the most beautiful leaf-variegated varieties among Cymbidium tortisepalum, blooming with pistil petal orchids, tall flower scapes, and large flower form. Due to its small quantity, flowers are rarely seen, so much so that in previous years many people suspected its flowers were not good and thus it did not appear.
San Feng has a small plant form, belongs to the fine-leaf Cymbidium tortisepalum, sometimes with the central leaf transformed, and blooms pistil petal orchids.
