This is a Sijilan (four-season orchid) wild-collected cultivar obtained in 1996 by Mr. Chen Jianxin of Muchuan County from a local friend, and developed through ten years of cultivation and selection. It first bloomed in 2002, and its flower posture and form have remained stable to this day. It was named by Chen Jianxin and Zhou Naiqing. It was first divided and planted in September 2005, and the four people who introduced and cultivated it were Zhou Naiqing, Liu Wenlong, Wang Yuecheng and Zhang Dafu.
After this Sijilan has been cultivated into a mature plant, the leaves are 32-43 cm long and 1.9-2.5 cm wide, and the plant height is 15-22 cm. The flower scape bears 4-7 flowers; the outer whorl sepals are contracted at the base and rounded at the tip, with tightly rolled edges and level shoulders; the main petal is upright, and the three petals are well balanced, making it a rare true-standard plum-petal (meiban) form. The mussel-shell-shaped petals (bangke peng) are smooth, clean and rounded, while the large sparrow-tongue lip (da qu she) is broad and spreading; the column sits firmly and steadily, and the column, lip and petals are combined in perfect harmony, possessing the quintessential characteristics of a top-grade plum-petal orchid.

The foliage of this flower is intermediate to soft and drooping, the leaves are broad and thick, fish-belly shaped; the flowers are large, held above the foliage, delicately fragrant, and the flower color is glutinous and lustrous! The outer three petals of this flower have tightly rolled edges and clasp inward, the two petals form soft pockets, the lip does not hang down, the center of the flower is rounded, the outer three petals and the center are well proportioned, the flowers and leaves match very well, and the flower has a spirited quality!
