It belongs to the Cymbidium lianpan varieties, a fine-leaf lianpan orchid with hard leaf texture, slanted upright leaves, and dark green leaf color. The leaf groove is deep and obvious. The leaves are 20-40 cm long and 0.5-0.7 cm wide. When the leaf buds emerge from the soil they are purplish red, and the bud tips have red crystals. The wrapping angles of new shoots have bright red color halos, making it very easy to identify even when not in flower. It has 5-7 leaves, dark green. The flower buds emerge dark red, with 2 flowers per scape, held above the leaves, with a deep and far-reaching fragrance. It blooms from February to March every year. The two large flowers are of normal willow-leaf petal type, and beside the second flower 2-7 small flowers develop, including butterfly forms, plain forms and colored forms, combining rare, strange, variable and unusual traits in one plant. The petals are abundantly produced and well arranged! This amazes viewers, like a family with long-lived parents and children and grandchildren filling the hall, enjoying their years in happiness, and also like the endless line of Yanhuang descendants.
