There are different local versions in Xi'an about the origin of Emperor Su. One version says it was acquired from Shangnan for 200 yuan. According to this version, it can be seen that at the time Qinshen Orchid Garden did not think this variety was a particularly good Huisu. Because the wild-collected plant had not yet been rejuvenated, or due to improper management by Qinshen and other reasons, the flowers were not very good when purchased, and there have also been several cases where the flowers became excellent after rejuvenation....
There are different local versions in Xi'an about the origin of Emperor Su.

One version says it was acquired from Shangnan for 200 yuan. According to this version, it can be seen that at the time Qinshen Orchid Garden did not think this variety was a particularly good Huisu. Because the wild-collected plant had not yet been rejuvenated, or due to improper management by Qinshen and other reasons, the flowers were not very good when purchased, and there have also been several cases where the flowers became excellent after rejuvenation. Here we have an orchid enthusiast who at the time bought one as an ordinary Huisu, and after it reflowered, sold it at a very high price during the peak of orchid prices. Even for Tianyi Hesu (I really cannot figure out what number it is; around here we only call it Tianyi Hesu and have never called it by any number), if a Shandong orchid enthusiast had not told Qinshen which number it opened as, I believe he would also have found it very difficult to judge. At that time, at 200 per seedling, 126 could not be bought. Qinshen, do not say that 126 is an ordinary flower; there is no need to say again what position this flower holds in your heart and how much wealth it has brought you. Guo Feng did not buy only one Huisu either; exactly which Huisu produced Emperor Su, Qinshen himself could not figure out clearly at the time.

The second version is Qinshen's account, saying that Guo Feng told Qinshen that it was produced from the 126 he bought from Sun Hong. There are several major doubts about this account. First, whether this statement is true only Qinshen knows, and there is no way to verify it. By ordinary reasoning, Guo Feng was not unacquainted with Qinshen, and generally would not fail to buy first-hand plants and instead buy second-hand plants. Second, assuming what Qinshen said is true, then whether what Guo Feng told Qinshen was the truth is also highly uncertain. By normal reasoning, if Guo Feng's Emperor Su really came from 126, then before promoting and introducing Emperor Su, he would have tried as much as possible to buy out all the 126 in Qinshen's or others' hands secretly and without disclosure. Everyone wants to buy the best things at the lowest cost; this is an iron law of the business world and has nothing to do with morality. Please do not say that I am judging a gentleman by the measure of a petty man; no one is all that noble. If Guo Feng really told Qinshen that Emperor Su was 126, then it is possible that at the time Guo Feng had not bought out Emperor Su, and in order to divert attention, used covert means to gather all the remaining Emperor Su in Qinshen's hands into his own possession.
