Variety Characteristics and Appreciation Points of Fangtao Mei Huilan

Fangtao Mei, selected and bred by Fang Heping of Zhoushan, is currently one of the finest plum-petal huilan (Cymbidium faberi) varieties discovered in Zhoushan. Fangtao Mei, a red huilan plum (red turning green), is a rare Zhoushan-discovered huilan variety, selected and bred by myself, and has won gold awards at national orchid exhibitions twice. The plant type is semi-arching, with a glutinous and elegant texture. The flower buds are pomegranate-head shaped, the three outer petals taper at the base, and the shoulders are broad. The soft lips are round, neat and glossy, with a square-notched tongue, a glutinous and moist texture, and a jade-green color. Its delicate fragrance is clear and far-reaching, its spirit elegant and charming, and the flower holds well, making it outstanding among fengqiao-type flowers!
