What orchid variety is Yulin Mei Chunlan?
Yulin Mei was discovered in the early part of this century in Xiabao Township (now Qiantan Town), Jiande, Zhejiang. Its color is pure and its substance is supple; its center is round and tight. This flower generally blooms later than most Chunlan, and it is one of the most influential new flowers after Jiulong Mei.
It comes from Jiande, Zhejiang, and was discovered at about the same time as Hemu Chunshe (discovered in 2001). It was discovered by Cheng Yulin of Jiande. It is another fine flower from Jiande after Jiulong Mei, with very good substance and a distinctive red patch on the lip; the lip does not curl back even after being open for a long time.
