This flower can be said to be the finest of all Chunlan lotus-petal type flowers to date. Yunnan Youlan Xuan was among those who saw this flower in person when it first bloomed in 2008, and later purchased it in 2010 from the owner, brother Qin Shuangfu. This flower is a semi-dwarf variety among Chunlan; its leaf texture is relatively fine and soft, the leaf tips point upward, leaf height 10-20 cm, 3-5 leaves per plant, the leaf sheaths clasp tightly, the small buds are round and blunt, and when the flower bud rises the bud sheath has red veins; the flower bud is as round as a lantern, a typical lotus-petal characteristic. One obvious feature of this plant is on the ring mark on the sheath, where half is pure, making it very easy to identify. The petals of this flower are very round and full, the outer petals round and full with tightly rolled edges, and narrowed at the base. The petaloids are very round, like seashells. What everyone sees in the photo as an "open skylight" above the petaloids is actually caused by this flower's tongue being too round and too large, and is not at all what people call an open skylight. This flower has good color, round petals, tightly rolled edges, and a narrowed base; it is truly a rare superior masterpiece among lotus-petal flowers! As the saying goes: a thousand plum petals are easy to find, but one lotus petal is hard to obtain; a masterpiece with such full petal form and dignified beauty is even harder still, and its quantity is now extremely small, so it can only be a good choice for investment and collection by orchid specialists!
The shoots of this plant's leading growth are very elegant, and the root system is very good. This flower has already been cultivated in this orchid garden for more than 2 years, has never used any chemical fertilizers, and is grown in soft potting medium; it is very elegant and robust!
