Yidai Tianjiao: It is a "Big Green Orchid" ruidie (stamen-petalized butterfly orchid). This flower was discovered in Xichang, Sichuan, China, where a farmer named Li Ning dug up this plant from the mountain. Yidai Tianjiao: It is a "Big Green Orchid" ruidie (stamen-petalized butterfly orchid). This flower was discovered in Xichang, Sichuan, China, where a farmer named Li Ning dug up this plant from the mountain. Seeing that its leaf form was very beautiful, he planted it in his yard as an ornamental grass. In October 2007, this plant bloomed. At that time it was four shoots with dragon roots, and it produced 2 flower spikes, very beautiful. This flower is not only unique for its brilliant flower color, graceful and luxurious bearing, elegant posture, and delicate fragrance, but more importantly, it is also famous for its stable flower characteristics! This plant was registered in the Chinese Orchid Catalog as No. 0329, and has repeatedly won "Special Gold Award" and "Gold Award" at major orchid exhibitions. This is a fine flower that can be passed down through generations. Its characteristics are that the leaf posture and leaf form are very beautiful, the flower color is brilliant and varied, the flowers are large, the bloom form is extremely symmetrical, the color pattern appears in a large layered colorful form, and the degree of butterfly transformation is extremely high. What is even more outstanding is that the edges of the flower have a silvery-white marginal variegation. This flower has stable traits, and the flower scapes rise above the leaves. Generally, each scape bears 5-8 flowers, and the flowering period is about 30 to 40 days. When in full bloom, the delicate fragrance fills the air, making people feel relaxed and joyful. This plant has unparalleled market potential. From the time I first became familiar with orchids until now, an orchid like this that comprehensively meets aesthetic standards is truly rare. Although Cymbidium faberi has its color and many flowers, it does not have her graceful posture. Although Cymbidium goeringii, Cymbidium goeringii var. longibracteatum, and Cymbidium tortisepalum have her fragrance and color, they do not have her posture and abundance of flowers. In short, she comprehensively possesses the orchid's color, fragrance, posture, elegance, and so on, and has extremely high collection value and ornamental appeal!
Additional note: This flower is somewhat different from the true Songchun. People in our area call it Chunlu Orchid. It is a new and very excellent variety, because the roots of Songchun are thin and hairy, but the roots of this flower are the same as those of Cymbidium goeringii var. longibracteatum and Cymbidium tortisepalum. Also, its leaf posture and leaf form are very beautiful, matching or even surpassing the leaf posture and leaf form of the famous Yunnan variety Daxuesu. What I emphasize here is that this flower is of the strong-fragrance type, with the most pleasant fragrance among orchids. Also, it opens 5-8 flowers and the scapes rise well above the leaves. If a pot produces more than 3 scapes in bloom, it is even more brilliant and varied, full of rich magnificence. It can be said to be a "flower of wealth and honor" that dares to vie in beauty with the peony and to contend in fragrance with the hundred flowers. It is very beautiful!
