June 3, 2015: Rise and Fall of the National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index

According to monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, on June 3 the “National Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index” was 200.24, down 0.38 points from yesterday, of which the “Vegetable Basket” Products Wholesale Price Index was 200.95, down 0.39 points from yesterday.

As of 14:00 today, the average price of pork in national agricultural products wholesale markets was 19.45 yuan/kg (the pork wholesale price index was 164.98), up 0.1% from yesterday;

Beef 53.80 yuan/kg, down 0.2% from yesterday;

Mutton 48.46 yuan/kg, down 0.7% from yesterday;

Eggs 7.21 yuan/kg, down 0.3% from yesterday;

Dressed chicken 14.72 yuan/kg, down 0.3% from yesterday.

The average price of the 28 key monitored vegetables was 3.36 yuan/kg (the vegetable wholesale price index was 197.86), up 0.3% from yesterday;

The average price of the 7 key monitored fruits was 6.18 yuan/kg, down 1.1% from yesterday.

The average price of crucian carp was 14.41 yuan/kg, up 0.8% from yesterday;

Common carp 13.51 yuan/kg, up 0.1% from yesterday;

Silver carp 7.11 yuan/kg, down 1.1% from yesterday;

Largehead hairtail 28.00 yuan/kg, flat compared with yesterday.

Today, among the 60 varieties under key monitoring in domestic fresh and live agricultural products wholesale markets, the top five price increases compared with yesterday were: oyster mushroom, zucchini, scallion, rapeseed and onion, with margins of 4.4%, 3.5%, 2.9%, 2.2% and 1.8% respectively; the top five price decreases were: Kyoho grape, cabbage, long bean, tomato and garlic, with margins of 3.5%, 3.3%, 2.9%, 2.3% and 2.1% respectively.
