The 9th China International Organic Food Expo Was a Spectacular Event
From May 28 to 30, the 9th China International Organic Food Expo, hosted by the China Green Food Development Center and the Nuremberg International Exhibition Group of Germany, and organized by the China Green Huaxia Organic Food Certification Center and Nuremberg Exhibition Services (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.
This year's expo had an exhibition area of 12,000 sq m and 329 exhibitors. Thousands of organic products attracted Chinese and foreign buyers who came one after another to negotiate and make purchases, and staff from many countries' embassies and consulates in China also came specially to the expo to gather information or help their countries' companies connect for business.
According to Wang Yunhao, Director of the China Green Food Development Center, with the development of our country's economy, the growth of consumer demand, and the strengthening and improvement of regulatory intensity and standards, our country's organic industry has become increasingly mature, and the organic product consumer market has gradually expanded, with annual sales of about 20-30 billion yuan. It has not only become the world's fourth-largest organic product consumer country, but has also become a target for the development of organic trade in various countries, especially developed countries.
At the 2015 China Organic Food Market and Development International Seminar held during this period, leaders from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the PRC, as well as domestic and international experts from organic certification bodies such as China Green Huaxia and organic product production and trading enterprises, held in-depth discussions on the development of China's organic agriculture under the new normal, global organic food and market development trends, the organic food trade market and its expansion, and organic products, organic culture, and organic living.
Activities including the debut Natural Products Exhibition Area, the China Organic Food E-commerce Procurement Summit, the "Organic Kitchen" culinary demonstration, the organic rice tasting event, and the Organic Low-Carbon Living Promotion Area made the entire expo spectacular and attracted the keen attention of more than 18,000 professional visitors.
