Introduction to the characteristics of the Cymbidium ensifolium 'Huoshu Hongguan' variety

"Fire trees and silver flowers light up the night, the fire tree red crown brings boundless fortune." This flower was collected by Mr. Peng Daxian from Lian'ao Mountain in Guangji, Meishan. This flower has two to four leaves, leaf length 30-40 cm, leaf width 1-2 cm, and dark green leaf color. In 1997, it won the Silver Award at the "Four Seasons Orchid International Orchid Exhibition" at the Sansu Hotel in Meishan. At that time, it was purchased by an entrepreneur from Meishan for a large sum, and Mr. Peng repeatedly asked to keep one old seedling. Years later, it was learned that this flower was preserved by Mr. Peng alone. When this flower sprouts, it is purplish-red; the young seedling leaves carry a purplish-red sandy blush; the pseudobulb is purplish-red; the flower stem is purplish-red; the flower stalk is purplish-red; the flower bud is deep red; the inflorescence has 2-4 flowers. When open, the flower color is bright purplish-red, the flower stem is red like a "fire tree," and the blossoms are brilliant like a "red crown." The open form of this flower is fiery and profound, symbolizing boundless fortune and longevity. The flower color and form remain stable year after year. It belongs to the red-flowered summer cymbidium with red stem, red base, red petals, and red lip, truly a rare treasure among today's Cymbidium ensifolium and seldom seen in the world.
