Yunmei originates from Pujiang, Sichuan. It is a relatively excellent new lotus-type plum blossom variety! The leaves are about 1.2 cm wide, with the longest leaf reaching 48 cm.
This flower was discovered in the wild in Pujiang, Sichuan. When it first came down from the mountain, it was traded between a Mr. Xu and a Mr. Peng, both orchid enthusiasts in Pujiang, at prices ranging from 800 yuan to 1500 yuan per shoot. Later, when this flower bloomed again, it was discovered by a Mr. Su, who then bought almost all the true shoots (more than ten growths) from Mr. Xu. In the second year after that, Mr. Su's Yunmei bloomed again, and it happened to be encountered by a major SiJiLan (Cymbidium ensifolium) grower (around 2007), who purchased 2 shoots at 20000 yuan per shoot. After that, several other Sichuan orchid growers came to Pujiang to introduce this variety. This flower has been officially registered and named Yunmei. Yunmei has excellent flower color and form, and its flower guard is also well-proportioned. It would be even more perfect if the flowers were a bit larger. Although the flowers are small, the center and outer petals are well-matched and harmonious. The petals have a jade-like texture where they separate from the stem, the inner petals are soft and cupped, and the three outer petals taper tightly to pointed tips.
