Tianchi He Lotus Petal Orchid Variety Characteristics and Appreciation Introduction

Tianchi He, originally named "Tianchi Mei," was first called lotus-type white lotus petal. The flower is white, the petals are white, and the veins are green. The main petal and side petals have tight edges, the petal tips are concave at the center, with 9 veins. The column petals clasp tightly, with no gap at the mussel mouth. The lip is concave and round like a white jade bowl. The concave, round lip is rarely seen among lotus petal orchids. It is produced in the dense forests of Tianchi Mountain in the eastern area of the Lancang River in western Yunnan. High mountains produce Tianchi, and among orchids comes a jade bowl; nature's creation, one pool and one bowl, wondrous in form and spirit, hence the place name Tianchi He ("Appreciation and Identification of Yunnan Orchid Grades" by Chen Gui, Yunnan Science and Technology Press). Because of my limited experience, I thought there was only one variety of lotus petal orchid Tianchi He, not knowing that there are 2 varieties of lotus petal orchid Tianchi He, and there is also a pink lotus petal Tianchi He, whose place of origin is also different; the pink lotus Tianchi He is produced in Laojun Mountain, Lijiang County.
