The theme of this orchid exhibition is "Using Orchids as a Medium, Meeting at Guanghui." The 20,000 sq m International Fine Orchid Hall is divided into 3 functional zones: a 5,000 sq m orchid exhibition area, a 5,000 sq m pottery art, painting and calligraphy exhibition area, and a 10,000 sq m organic vegetable exhibition area. Entering the orchid exhibition area, the first thing that comes into view is the themed landscape "The Beauty of Shenyang, Enhanced by Orchid Art" designed by Taiwan Sanyi Group. This landscape consists of three parts: a waterfall, a golden tree and a floral gate. A waterfall formed by stacking thousands of white Phalaenopsis orchids pours down, with white petals like splashes from the waterfall. Next to the fragrant snow waterfall is the golden tree decorated with Oncidium, its branches full of flowers exceptionally enchanting. The waterfall and the golden tree respectively represent Shenyang's increasingly improved ecological environment and Shenyang's rapidly developing economy, while the orchid gate made of pink Phalaenopsis is a gate of history and culture, symbolizing Shenyang's long history and profound culture. Passing through the gate of history, visitors can see 12 large orchid landscapes in the exhibition hall, including "Shengjing Wonderland," "Fairy Traces and Orchid Charm," "Orchid in the Empty Valley," "Ochid's Northern Adventure," and "Orchids Welcome the New Century," as well as 10 medium-sized landscapes such as "Hope of Orchids," "Andersen's Fairy Tales," "Orchid-Colored Countryside," "Lion City Orchid Art, Shenyang in Splendor," and "Dream Orchid Castle."
The several dozen varieties and more than 20,000 fine orchids from more than 20 countries and regions around the world participating in the exhibition are divided into six units for competition: "Cattleya," "Paphiopedilum," "Phalaenopsis," "Other Orchid Genera," "Combined Potted Flowers" and "Landscape Arrangement," and presidents and vice presidents of several world-renowned orchid associations from the United States, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, China and other places will judge and award prizes for various fine orchids.
