A new rui die (crested butterfly) flower discovered in Zhoushan, Zhejiang in 2004, selected and bred by Chen Zhimin of Taizhou's "Jinxiu Orchid Garden." When first discovered, the plant was weak and had never rebloomed, until it finally revealed its satisfactory beauty in 2010. Our garden introduced it from Chen Zhimin in June 2010, and after 3 years of waiting and anticipation, it finally bloomed magnificently with three scapes at once on February 23, 2013!

Exceptional floral quality: Its delicate leaf form is lively and elegant. The three inner petals are completely lip-petalized, with a white base; the "red coloration" forms a "V" shape, bright red in color, large and symmetrical, as if replicated. What is most remarkable is that no matter how long the flower remains open, its three inner petals (especially the lip) are the only ones among the many "rui die" (crested butterfly) orchids that never curl back, presenting all the aesthetic highlights of a "three-star butterfly" unreservedly before the viewer's eyes, a feast of beauty! In addition, although the three outer petals cannot be called a fine petal form, they still qualify as "standard form," arching forward and embracing, beautifully setting off the brilliant "three stars," and appearing very harmonious with a strong overall sense.
