Among the lotus-petal and lotus-type-petal Wenshan Cymbidium goeringii; a registered famous flower of the Yuxi region, selected, named and officially registered in 2004 by Mr. Deng Huaijun, president of the Yuxi Orchid Association. The flowers are strongly fragrant; weak plants mostly produce a single flower, while strong plants of the variety readily produce double flowers, and occasionally three flowers. Due to differences in growing environment and the vigor of the plants from year to year, it variably blooms with normal lotus-type petals or true standard lotus-petal flowers, and also often blooms as a multi-petal strange flower (a double flower with a strange top bloom). An early wild-collected Wenshan Cymbidium goeringii, it is a red-flowered lotus-type lotus-petal variety among Yunnan orchids; its leaf form is delicate and highly variable, sometimes upright and sometimes semi-upright. Grown in a conventional orchid house it reaches 16-25 cm, with a width of 0.6-0.9 cm, and an exceptionally strong plant can reach 7 leaves per single growth including the basal leaves.
This variety is a standard flower accompanied by a strange flower; it was collected in the 1990s in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The leaves are about 0.8 cm wide, the plant height about 25 cm, semi-upright, light green in color, with a fine and soft leaf texture. The flowers rise above the foliage, the flower color is bright red, with small lotus petals and good flower form, and a delicate fragrance. It often blooms with double flowers: the lower one a standard flower, and the upper one often multi-petaled (6-7 petals). After many years of cultivation, its traits are stable. Cultivators: Deng Huaijun, Zhu Xikun, Li Anming, Fei Taiyuan, Dai Baosheng and others.

To date, more than ten orchid varieties in Yuxi, including Niaoyu Huaxiang, Yinhe Xia, Hefeng Meiqu, Chunyan and Hongta Hong, have been registered.
