Jin Gui Mei, a new wild-collected variety of Cymbidium sinense, originated in Nanjing, and was obtained by Mr. Wang Zhonglin, the owner of Riwang Orchid Garden, from a street stall when he went to Nanjing to attend the Cross-Strait Orchid Exhibition. It was named for its flower shape, which resembles osmanthus petals and faces upward one by one when it first blooms.
