Major water conservancy projects receive 25 billion yuan in central government financial support

Recently, the central government allocated 25 billion yuan in central water conservancy funds to support the construction of 29 continued or otherwise funding-ready projects among the 172 major water conservancy projects in relevant regions. Of this: 2 major agricultural water-saving projects at 11.253 billion yuan, 8 new irrigation district projects at 4.2 billion yuan, 2 major water diversion projects at 2.2 billion yuan, and 17 backbone river and lake governance projects at 7.347 billion yuan.

The Ministry of Finance made clear that the use of the allocated funds shall follow the approved feasibility study reports, preliminary designs and annual construction contents, and relevant regions must effectively strengthen fund use management, accelerate budget execution and improve the efficiency of fund use.
