Huangzi, a Chunlan narcissus-petal variety, was collected from Beiyun in Xinchang, Zhejiang in 2001. A premium plum-shaped narcissus variety, stable in reblooming for many years. The flower scape is extremely tall, reaching up to 20cm at its highest. Soft pouch, spread tongue, level shoulders, tender color, excellent structure; the flower remains undistorted for half a month after opening, comparable in beauty to Jiyuan and Nianqi Mei; truly an excellent variety.
In 2003, Xu Yuanyang collected it from Tianmu Mountain in Xinchang; selected and bred by Chen Jiang, Wu Lifang, and Pan Jinyong; named by Chen Jiang.
The flower scape is tall and upright, the outer petals are lotus-shaped, with a contracted base and flared corners, level shoulders, soft deep pouch, spread tongue; the flower color is tender green, full of spirit; the leaves are narrow and semi-pendulous. It is an excellent lotus-shaped narcissus variety.
