Jinchang Mei, a famous new-and-old petal-type orchid variety from Zhejiang, is a relatively obscure cultivar. Because its numbers are relatively small, it has always had few opportunities to appear, but its floral quality is beyond reproach, its flower holds very well, and it is easy to grow and easy to bloom. The three outer petals have long legs and contracted roots, soft silkworm-moth pollinia, a Liu Hai tongue, and a color that is basically pure green; the scape is tall, and the leaves are semi-pendent.
Selected, bred and named by Hu Jinchang of Tangdi, Zhejiang. The flower appearance is dignified and can rival Longzi. The three outer petals are round and firmly rooted. The color is tender, slightly pale green, with Guanyin dou pollinia, a large round tongue, and one-line shoulders. A beautiful and lovely plum-shaped narcissus.
