This variety combines broad leaves, many leaves and multi-petal wonder flowers in one; the leaf shape is elegant, upright and handsome, with 2-3 flowers per scape, the flowers held above the foliage, with as many as 30 or more petal and lip segments, the whole flower brilliantly multi-colored, beautiful and spectacular, closely resembling a peony.
This variety originates from Qiaohou Town, Eryuan County, Dali. It was discovered when it bloomed in 2004. In 2006 it made its first appearance at the Dali Spring Orchid Exhibition, astonishing everyone and winning the gold award.
On March 20, 2007, this variety was named by Ma Zhihong, and Zhang Chiyun, Wang Mingliang and Yang Jialiang applied to the China Orchid Variety Registration Committee for registration, number: Lan No. 0276.
