Cymbidium goeringii 'Zhonghua Baoding', also known as 'Xinchang Wuxing Die'

Xinchang Wuxing Die (Zhonghua Baoding), collected in 1996 by an orchid enthusiast surnamed Wang from Puti Peak Mountain in Xinchang, comes from the same mountain as Xinchang's Hurui; because it has seldom appeared at orchid shows, it has always been "kept in the inner chambers, unknown to the world." I have always highly regarded this flower, considering it a representative variety of Xinchang's exotic-flower types, and believe that in the near future she will certainly become as famous at home and abroad as Hurui.

Zhonghua Baoding [Wuxing Die] This flower was discovered in 1997 in Xiaojiang, Xinchang, Zhejiang. The flower type is extra large, with vivid colors. This flower is a small plant with large flowers, with a beautiful form and brilliant colors. The leaves are often tubular, a hard-leaved plant, and it often opens 3-star or 4-star flowers.

This flower has three major characteristics:

1: The leaf type is very distinctive, being narrow, slender and upright; even the strongest plant is no wider than 0.5 cm.

2: The inner petals and outer petals are basically in direct proportion: if there are three outer petals, there are three inner ones; if four outer, then four inner; if five outer, then five inner. It can be said to be regular within the exotic, very symmetrical;

3: The flower is huge, with a diameter reaching 7.8 cm. The red patches on the lip are very vivid, with a strong contrast between red and white.
