The flower scape is 20cm tall, occasionally with two flowers on one scape; the three outer petals are short and round, extremely finely contracted at the base, with angled petal tips, the five petals have pale green markings, and on the very large round tongue, slightly curled, there is a bright red "U"-shaped color patch.
