At the 11th China (Baiyun, Guizhou) Orchid Expo in 2001, Mr. Zhu Hengyang of Bijie submitted a Chunlan tree-type plain rare flower named 'Yangchun Yujin'. Because the flower had not opened at the time of judging, it did not win an award, but the attentive Mr. Lu Xiufu of Zhejiang carefully observed the flower's future blooming form and direction while viewing the exhibition, and at that time secretly resolved to introduce this variety. In the autumn of that year, Mr. Lu Xiufu made a special trip from Zhejiang to Bijie, and while introducing the famous Bijie Chunlan variety 'Wumeng Mudan', he also introduced this tree-type plain rare flower and cultivated it together with Mr. Feng Fuchun. In 2003, in the book *Treasured New Varieties of Chinese Chunlan and Huilan*, edited by Mr. Jin Shulun, Mr. Lu Xiufu and Mr. Feng Fuchun named the tree-type plain rare flower introduced from Bijie 'Yushu Linfeng', and it was published on page 166 of that book, clearly stating that it was selected from Bijie, Guizhou. After Bijie orchid enthusiasts saw the book, most of them considered the name 'Yushu Linfeng' entirely appropriate, the flower living up to its name, and believed that in future development, promotion, and registration of this excellent famous variety, it could be called 'Yushu Linfeng'.
