Introduction to the Characteristics of the Tiegu (Iron Bone) Series of Jianlan (Cymbidium ensifolium) Varieties

Some people say that 'Xiantai Mei' and 'Huang Guangdeng' are the same variety. From the flowers alone, it is indeed very difficult to distinguish them, but the plant forms of the two flowers differ greatly!
Tiegu Wang = Tiegu Shuangmian Yin = Tiegu Ruiyu Yi. There are no specific flower photos, but since it belongs to the leaf-variegation category, it is estimated that the flowers should carry some variegation when they bloom. However, because it is a plain-centered (suxin) flower, the variegation might also blend into a single color.
Tiegu Huangya is also called 'Guose Tianxiang', and Tiegu Baiya is also called 'Tie Jingang'. Both are evolutions of Tiegu Su. The variegation is bright first and then dark, and after the plant matures, the leaf variegation basically fades away, though sometimes a tiny trace of leaf variegation remains. The flowers of Tiegu Huangya open with a double-ring (fulun) pattern, while the flowers of Tiegu Baiya are basically no different from ordinary Tiegu.
There are also Tiegu Shuijing and Jinzui Tianxiang Su, both of which should be evolutions of Tiegu Su.
Qianxi Ruyi should also be an evolution of ordinary Tiegu, with flowers opening as double-ring plain-centered (fulun suxin), similar to Tiegu Huangya, but with slightly narrower petals.
There is also Daye Tiegu, also known as 'Fuzhou He'. I have never grown it, but since the name contains the character 'He' (lotus), it is estimated that even if the flowers do not count as lotus-petal (heban), they should at least be lotus-type (hexing). In my opinion, it is probably also a line of Tiegu Su.
Tiegu Jinlong, Tiegu Baiyu and Tiegu Xueyu are all advanced variegations among Tiegu variegated types. I once saw a post by an orchid enthusiast in a community saying that Tiegu variegation covers all variegation types found in Chinese orchid (Guolan) leaf variegation. I think that saying this should not be far off the mark.
As for another one called Tiegu Sumei, its leaf shape alone is no different from ordinary Tiegu. It is said to sprout easily and bloom easily, so it should not be one of the Tiegu-type evolutions mentioned here, because a common characteristic of the Tiegu type is that it sprouts easily but is lazy about blooming.
