This flower originated in Fuling, Chongqing in 2002. It was selected and named (Olympic Star) by Liu Erge of Wenjiang, Sichuan. When it bloomed again for the first time in 2003, it was enthusiastically sought after by orchid enthusiasts in the surrounding areas! But Liu Erge was never willing to part with even a single seedling, and only in recent years did he reluctantly sell a few to local orchid growers, so it remains rare in number to this day. Since then it has appeared successively at orchid shows in various places and won awards repeatedly! This variety has dragon-like ridges with butterfly markings; although the three outer petals are speckled red, their color is bright, the center is full, and the colorful spots are vivid with distinct contrast. The flowers are large and held above the leaves, and the fragrance is pure. It is truly a rare masterpiece among the butterfly-petaled Cymbidium goeringii!
