A faculty database management platform for the new-type professional farmer cultivation project
Recently, the national faculty database for new-type professional farmer cultivation was launched and put into operation. Nearly 70 people responsible for farmer education and training from agricultural science and education departments and agricultural broadcasting and television schools in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) gathered in Beijing to discuss the construction of the national faculty database for new-type professional farmer cultivation, boosting the in-depth implementation of the new-type professional farmer cultivation project.
The national faculty database for new-type professional farmer cultivation follows the principles of "demand-oriented, open application, coordinated resources, tiered construction, and co-building and sharing." It selects professional and technical faculty of different industry types as well as general knowledge faculty in rural management, agricultural policies and regulations, and farmer entrepreneurship and business development. It relies on recommendations from educational and training institutions at all levels and of all types, agricultural colleges and universities, research institutes, technology extension units, and farmer professional cooperatives to recommend outstanding teachers, experts, and talent to jointly participate in the work of cultivating new-type professional farmers.
The national faculty database for new-type professional farmer cultivation is an open and shared basic platform. Agricultural departments at all levels, according to the industrial development requirements of their jurisdictions and farmers' training needs, select applicable faculty from the database, establish and improve faculty databases at their own levels, and jointly serve the work of cultivating new-type professional farmers. The faculty team is divided into four levels: central, provincial, prefectural (municipal), and county. County-level faculty teams mainly undertake local new-type professional farmer education and training and follow-up services; provincial and prefectural (municipal) faculty teams mainly undertake local demonstration training or high-end training; the central new-type professional farmer cultivation faculty team mainly undertakes national new-type professional farmer demonstration training and "online grand lecture hall" training, develops national-level excellent farmer education and training courses, and carries out theoretical research and work supervision for new-type professional farmer cultivation.
At present, all localities are stepping up efforts to improve the management system for the use of the faculty database, establish scientific resource allocation and assessment management mechanisms, enhance faculty training capabilities, and complete the related work of faculty registration and review before the end of the year. In 2016, a faculty database of more than 100,000 people will be built, creating a new-type professional farmer cultivation faculty team with sufficient numbers, a reasonable structure, and excellent quality, providing support and guarantees for cultivating high-quality new-type professional farmers.
