On the 20th, a reporter learned from the Agriculture Department of the Ministry of Finance: Recently, the central government allocated 13.89 billion yuan in poverty alleviation funds to support poverty alleviation and development in poor rural areas.

It is reported that in 2015, the central government, in implementing the spirit of the "China Rural Poverty Alleviation and Development Outline (2011—2020)", budgeted 46.09 billion yuan in poverty alleviation fund subsidies for local areas, an increase of 8% over the previous year, mainly including: development funds of 37.01 billion yuan, ethnic minority development funds of 4 billion yuan, work-relief funds of 4.1 billion yuan, “Sanxi” funds of 300 million yuan, poverty alleviation funds for state-owned poor forest farms of 420 million yuan, and poverty alleviation funds for state-owned poor farms of 260 million yuan. As of now, all funds have been allocated.

In addition, to implement the spirit of the "Opinions on Innovating Mechanisms and Solidly Promoting Rural Poverty Alleviation and Development Work", the central government continued to increase investment in poverty alleviation and development, focusing on supporting poverty alleviation in contiguous areas of extreme poverty. At the same time, it innovated the mechanism for the use of poverty alleviation funds, explored asset-income poverty alleviation pilot projects, and continued pilot projects supporting local areas in concentrating efforts to solve prominent poverty problems. It vigorously supported poverty alleviation and development in poor ethnic minority areas, advanced the action to invigorate border areas and enrich the people, improved the pilot policy for the protection and development of villages with ethnic minority characteristics, and promoted the development of ethnic groups with small populations. It continued to do a good job in work-relief, poverty alleviation for state-owned poor farms and forest farms, and “Sanxi” construction.
