Lianxi Mei, also known as "Lianxi Mei" (a famous Cymbidium goeringii cultivar). Petal type: plum petal. History: selected and bred by Zhou Zhaofu of Shanghai in 1910. Characteristics: medium-wide leaves arching and drooping, dark green leaf color, leaf tips long and pointed. Flower buds purple-red, ovary bracts deep green, the three outer petals have a slightly long narrow base and rounded tight edges, petals thick in texture, slightly drooping shoulders. Silkworm-moth pollinia thick with heavy white tips, ruyi lip with faint red dots, though the flower stalk is not tall, the leaves arch and droop, so the flower still rises above the foliage. Extremely rare in circulation.

The current surviving quantity is estimated to be even less than 'Xue Meiren'. There are no records of this variety in Japan, nor any re-exported stock. Within China, very few orchid gardens and enthusiasts possess this variety; for example, it is cultivated at the "Zhejiang Cymbidium goeringii Sample Garden". It is also rarely seen on the market.
