A Mei-type narcissus orchid from Sichuan, with large flowers and beautiful colors. The petal shape is the classic Mei-type narcissus, the flower holds well, and the petals are thick and substantial, making it a rare variety among the four-season orchids . In the summer of 2009, Douche was searching everywhere for flowers (without asking about willows), and accidentally came upon a local orchid farmer's home. From afar, he saw the ground covered with four-season orchids blooming brilliantly, with a rich fragrance carried far. So he began to get out of the car to look for flowers. At that time, he called the farmer's owner to go down to the field together to select flowers. Many common flowers and colored flowers were passed over quickly. With muddy feet, he soon reached the fence of the orchid garden, and found in a row of grass a medium-to-large-pipped orchid that had not yet opened. The first visual impression was that the bud was round and full, and the flower stalk was thick and long, so at the very least it was a lotus-type flower. So he approached, squatted down, and examined it carefully. The more he looked, the more he felt that it was at least a broad-petaled lotus-type large flower (and if it turned out to be a Mei-xian, even better). The farmer's owner was a bit shrewd, and he also saw that this flower was unusual. After careful examination, it seemed that the pseudobulb was still blooming for the first time, so the bargaining process began. After several rounds of wits, they finally agreed on a price -- so it was all pulled out. Picking up the grass, he then selected 1 red flower in the garden, paid, and left, going elsewhere to look for flowers again (without asking about willows). After returning home, he did not give the orchid any special care, surrounding it all with soil and waiting for it to bloom..... 4 days later, the first flower in the middle opened. Because it was planted on the rooftop, he only went to look in the evening. At that time, his first expression was surprise (the kind where both eyes and mouth are wide open), murmuring: How is this a Mei? And it was especially round and broad, with a perfect center, very good! Very good! He continued waiting for the flowers to open..... After another 4 days, all had opened. Because the rooftop temperature was high, at the time it felt as if they had been forced open by hot wind, not as large as imagined, but already satisfyingly good. So he pulled it out again -- got in the car and placed it with an expert friend for cultivation. To this day, this variety blooms every year and is stable every year. Because it was placed with a friend for cultivation, during the flowering period several good friends forcibly divided off several seedlings (all when I was not present). This variety's flowers are on the larger side, easy to rise above the leaves, with a round, broad, and imposing flower shape, a perfect center, a small curled tongue, and a good fragrance. To this day it remains unnamed; too lazy to think, it was temporarily named -- "Xinyuan Mei".
