Sharing My Experience in Growing Back-Sold Tissue-Cultured Hybrid Orchids
Green Three Star~~Lucky Star
1. Disinfection and sterilization: after buying the orchids, first wash them with tap water, soak them in a chlorothalonil solution for 10 to 15 minutes, then take them out and let them dry for more than 10 hours.
2. Potting mix ratio: fired clay soil, Kanuma pumice, peat, Hewang Xiantu clay, rotted chestnut leaves, and tree fern fiber, with all the various ingredients in equal proportions.
3,Stuff the orchid's roots into the stones, spread the roots out, plant it into the pot, and a settling-water watering is a must.
4. After it survives, it still needs plenty of sunlight, with suitable shading. Place a slow-release fertilizer of 20 granules on the pot surface, a bit away from the roots, and add it once every 3 months.
5. Spray carbendazim once every 3 months, and do not let water accumulate on the leaf surface. You can also alternately use Daconil.
6After it has regained vigor, you can use a fertilizer with high phosphorus and potassium content to make it bloom.
The Properties and Uses of Peat Soil. Peat is also called grass peat or turf soil. It is a loose accumulation formed from the remains of marsh plants or a humified material formed through mineralization, and it contains a large amount of organic matter. I. Types of peat 1. Low-moor peat. It is a substance formed under conditions of waterlogged low-lying land and groundwater sources rich in minerals. The peat plants are rich in nutrients, and the resulting peat also has high ash, nutrient and humic acid content. Its characteristics are high nitrogen nutrient and mineral element content, low acidity with a slightly acidic to neutral reaction, and a high degree of decomposition. 2. Medium- and high-moor peat. It forms on slightly higher terrain or on the raised upper layers of low-moor peat, and is composed of the remains of marsh plants such as sedges and mosses that have lower requirements for nutrient conditions. It is mainly mineralized with rainwater, which contains few minerals, as its water source. Its characteristics are: medium nitrogen nutrient and mineral element content, but high acidity, showing an acidic or strongly acidic reaction, and a poor degree of decomposition. II. Uses of peat 1. It can be used as a soil improver, and in the production of biological fertilizers, organic fertilizers, compound and mixed fertilizers, and plant growth hormones. Applying peat in agricultural production can improve the soil, increase nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content, raise the total amount of organic matter and humic acid, and activate soil fertility, with remarkable effects on improving crop quality and yield. 2. It can be used to prepare various nutrient soils and flower soils. Various nutrient soils and flower soils prepared with peat as the main raw material can be used for industrial vegetable and flower seedling raising, the cultivation of high-grade flowers and potted flowers, and soilless cultivation, etc. Various nutrient soils and flower soils prepared with peat (grass peat) as the main raw material can provide ample fertility with long-lasting fertilizer effect, reduce the occurrence of pests, diseases and odors, improve the rot resistance and stress resistance of crops, and promote plant growth, giving flowers such characteristics as deep green leaves, large and brightly colored blooms, and an extended flowering period. 3. Using peat to build lawns, golf courses, football fields and other sites can make the lawn grow robustly, retain water and fertilizer, and prevent drying out.
