It is said that Green Treasure was collected in Fujian in 1996. Its leaf variegation is highly variable, including large green-cap center-striped variegation, green-cap striped Ruiyu variegation, and tricolor variegation. Its leaf posture is upright and graceful; the flowers have red stems, red flowers with green tips, and a long-lasting fragrance. It is an excellent double-beauty variety among cold-growing orchids, combining fine foliage and flowers. Key cultivation points for Green Treasure: 1. It is said that Green Treasure was collected in Fujian in 1996 as a large-leaf cold-growing orchid.
Key cultivation points for Green Treasure:
1. During the sprouting period, apply more nitrogen fertilizer; when the shoots reach half their height, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. This can make the seedlings strong and the leaf posture upright.
2. Usually apply less nitrogen fertilizer. In the morning, the light can be appropriately stronger to promote the evolution of leaf variegation. Among leaf variegations, Ruiyu variegation and large green-cap center-striped variegation are better. If tricolor (yellow, white, green) variegation appears, even better. Green Treasure's leaf variegation is itself highly variable, but its valuable point is that it will not produce ghost seedlings that are difficult to care for.
3. Because the leaf sheaths are relatively tall, after the shoots sprout and open their mouths, be careful not to let liquid flow in when watering, fertilizing, or spraying. This is especially true in high-temperature seasons, when water may not evaporate in time and bacteria may breed, risking stem rot. When watering, it is best to water thoroughly from the side.
4. At present, many newly collected leaf-variegated cold-growing orchid varieties are actually Green Treasure. When introducing plants, pay attention and do not assume they are new varieties and introduce them at a high price.
