The thin-leaf cold orchid wonder flower Green Peacock was collected by orchid enthusiast Xiao Xue of Anyuan County during the summer vacation of 2010. The collection site and another wonder flower of the county, Shanye Ju, are each located on the east and west ridges of the same village. After collection, it was planted under a navel orange tree in his own yard. Because he was never home to care for it, the orchids under the tree had poor ventilation and were often stepped on by chickens, so many seedlings rotted. When it bloomed on November 27, 2012, it was discovered on the same day as Shanye Ju. Green Peacock is a tree-type double-tiered chrysanthemum-petal wonder flower. The lower layer has one lip and 5 petals, and the central column becomes a flower stalk that extends upward to bloom another layer of multi-column, multi-petal flowers. The flower shape is neat, and the flower color is emerald green. More than twenty crystal-clear petals open neatly around the column, like a white lotus emerging from water, and also like a peacock spreading its tail. It is now jointly cultivated by Xiao Xue and myself. In the winter of 2013, Green Peacock formed buds and bloomed again. Worried that the load was too heavy, the lower flowers were first removed, leaving one top flower, which still had not opened after more than two months.
