What are the three reasons for bud drop in Phalaenopsis orchids?
Phalaenopsis (moth orchid) is a valuable tropical flower, and because its flower shape closely resembles a butterfly, it is loved by many people. However, its habits are rather difficult to master, and its price is also on the high side, which deters many flower lovers. Still, among them there are some determined flower lovers who get their hands on Phalaenopsis, but often the flowers have not yet opened and the buds have already dropped.
The reasons are described below:
① Insufficient temperature: After Phalaenopsis forms buds, keep the temperature above 15°C until it blooms; if the temperature is insufficient, the buds are prone to dropping and the leaves turn yellow.
② Potting soil too wet: Watering too much and potting soil that is too wet can also cause bud drop.
③ Insufficient nutrients: After Phalaenopsis shows buds, apply topdressing, 1-2 times every half a month, to continuously replenish nutrients, otherwise the buds will gradually drop from the bottom upward.
