Mingbang Sudie, a new species discovered in Yuyao, won the gold award at the 13th Yuyao City Orchid Exhibition. It was selected by Mi Xiantong of Yuyao in January 2004 from among the unclassified wild-collected orchids of Siming Mountain. Although it produced flower buds many times afterward, its flowering period remained relatively late. Apart from the year it was collected, one occasion when it bloomed after being forced with heat, and one occasion when it barely bloomed after the bud was opened, all the others were peeled open for various reasons. Judging from the buds peeled open this year, it has the same form as the one that barely bloomed after being opened in 2007: four outer petals, with one petal in the position of the main petal, and the two side petals transformed into butterfly-like petals, totaling 7 petals and 1 lip.
