China now has over 70,000 agricultural product processing enterprises above designated size nationwide

The 18th China Agricultural Products Processing Industry Investment and Trade Fair will be held from September 6 to 8 in Zhumadian City, Henan Province. Since 1998, the Ministry of Agriculture and Henan Province have jointly held 17 sessions of the fair, with more than 3,700 key investment and construction projects signed, and contract value exceeding 110 billion yuan.

According to Zong Jinyao, Director of the Agricultural Products Processing Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2014, the number of agricultural product processing enterprises above designated size nationwide reached 75,700, with main business revenue of 18.48 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.2%. The agricultural product processing industry has become a strategic pillar industry and an important livelihood industry with a high degree of industrial linkage, wide industry coverage, and strong driving effect.

It is reported that the 18th fair will add two key components: “Industrial Park Exchange” and the “Internet+ Agricultural Products Processing Industry Summit Forum.” The ASEAN International Trade Promotion Committee will also set up a Thailand exhibition area this year, organizing more than 60 Thai enterprises to participate in the exhibition and holding special promotional activities.
